Vanciful Thoughts

I recently assisted a client with a lake house makeover in Hot Springs, Arkansas. We worked together to take a lovely lake lot with a less than desirable house and turn it into a fabulous weekend retreat. I was able to provide the clients with custom built in bunk beds tucked under a new stairway. We also worked together to design custom headboards with integrated lighting. The room that I am most proud of is the kitchen that was opened up into the living room. This space went from drab to fab! Check out more pictures in my portfolio.

Let me introduce you to one of my design crushes... If you have never visited Caliza at Alys Beach, FL you must go. The food is delicious but frankly I would eat almost anything just to spend a few hours in this space. The use of natural elements in this indoor/outdoor poolside retreat is remarkable from the oversized timber clad doorways to the use of lighting in the pool after dark it is a feast for the eyes. Hats off to Khoury Vogt Architects (KVA) and their Caliza design that has inspired me to incorporate cabanas and awe inspiring after dark lighting in a design for Mozzafiato in Corniglia, Italy.
